To our patients,
Thank you for all your patience and kindness during these trying times. We continue to open our doors to our patients, with stringent disinfection and isolation protocols. It is our highest priority to keep our staff and our patients safe.
For certain medical needs, the government has made it possible to temporarily implement telehealth. To avoid coming into the office, please call us at (604) 535 2520 and request a telephone consult. We will then arrange for your doctor to call you. In certain cases, you may still need to come into the office for a physical examination, however we will do our best to minimize unnecessary trips.
We continue to ask that you call us if you are experiencing a cough, fever and shortness of breath as it is imperative that the doctor speaks to you prior to coming to the office. If necessary, the staff will then advise you of your appointment time and our isolation procedure. We are not testing asymptomatic patients.
As of March 17, 2020, the Provincial Health Officer has advised that:
Testing is available for all patients who need it, but not everyone requires a test. B.C. is currently testing those with respiratory symptoms who are:
1. Hospitalized, or likely to be hospitalized
2. Health care workers
3. Residents of long term care facilities
4. Part of an investigation of a cluster or outbreak.
Fraser Health staff are also very busy working on setting up central Covid-19 testing facilities. More details will be released in the coming days. In the meantime, the Ministry of Health has released an online assessment tool:
For employers and managers, we ask that you refrain from asking your employees for “Sick notes” during this busy time.
We reiterate the daily message for staying healthy:
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
Please heed self-isolation instructions
Avoid touching your face
Practice social distancing
Self-isolate if you are sick
Thank you for helping us all take care of each other.
